Our mission is to elevate diverse contractors within Southern Nevada’s construction industry.
Vision
To have the most READY, WILLING, and ABLE diverse contractors in Southern Nevada. READY to commit. WILLING to compete. ABLE to complete.
Who We Are
The Nevada Contractors Association’s DCC (Diverse Contractors Council) is comprised of general contractors, subcontractors, and professional services and suppliers in the Southern Nevada construction industry who are committed to helping our diverse contractors achieve their business goals. The Council provides growth and opportunities through networking, training and education, and advocacy for diverse contractors.
DCC has adopted and utilizes the AGC of America Culture of Care program to take bold and visible steps towards creating a diverse, safe, welcoming, and inclusive construction industry. Fostering an environment that is welcoming and inclusive to all contractors in Southern Nevada will contribute to improving industry relationships and developing our construction workforce.

Culture of CARE is challenging leaders to take a bold and visible step towards ensuring their workplaces are welcoming, safe and inclusive for an increasingly diverse and talented pool of workers by taking the Culture of CARE pledge. Once you sign the pledge, Culture of CARE provides companies with tools and resources to help establish a Culture of CARE in their workplaces. Learn more at www.BuildCulture.org.
The companies who commit to a Culture of CARE aren’t passively thinking about their company culture. They are actively working to ensure that every employee – from the CEO to the laborer – has the opportunity to feel valued, respected and heard. Companies who commit to a Culture of CARE believe that everyone has the right to a work environment that is free from harassment, hazing and bullying. You’ll be in good company – see the list of Impact Champions who have already taken the pledge.
Christy Echols President of The Paragon Group Chair, Diverse Contractors Council
Established in 2012, The Paragon Group set out to bridge the gap for small, women and minority-owned companies, private and public entities. Displaying a uniquely diverse background from her family's small business to corporate, construction, and government contracting; this has given Christy an extensive area of perspective and expertise in understanding both sides and recognizing the gap in between. Having a front-row seat, we see the opportunities that small, women and minority-owned firms face in their business daily. Providing a compass for them to navigate the journey is huge for our firm. Seeing and hearing the impact that it makes is priceless.
We love our community!! Christy has become the “go-to” resource for small, diverse business development and certification in Nevada. Paragon works closely with organizations; private and public that are seeking diverse business owners to have a "seat at their table". We are able to come alongside them; guide them through the process, share keys to success while ensuring they have direct access to the tools and resources they need to capture the opportunities available.
In June of 2019, together with the Nevada Department of Transportation, The Resource Center was introduced to the community serving as a hub for certified small, diverse business owners that work on transportation and highway projects. Christy currently serves as the NDOT DBE Supportive Services Consultant. Additionally, Christy is active in the local business community, currently serving on the NCA's Diversity & Inclusion Council Steering Committee and NCA Board of Directors. In December of 2018, she was appointed by the Clark County Commission to serve as a member of Clark County’s Business Development Advisory Council (BDAC). Prior, Christy served on the National Association of Women Business Owners of Southern Nevada’s Executive Board from 2013 to 2016 and as the 2014-2015 President. Faith and family come first for Christy. Her husband, Greg has been her rock for 25 years. Together, they are the proud parents to Preston, Drake, and Presleigh and a daughter-in-love, Lila.
