Safe Site Award Program
The Nevada Contractors Association & Region 9 Safety Compliance supports and recognizes our members who demonstrate safety on their job sites. A member is awarded monthly based on a score system and zero time lost due to injuries. CORE May 2021
Congratulations to CORE Construction Services of Nevada, Inc. on being the May Safe Site Award Winner! The award was won for the White Pine County Justice Complex in Ely, NV with Project Manager Brandon Whipple and Project Superintendents Dennis Hernstrom & Tom Beus leading the team. This project is new construction of a 32,495 square-foot courthouse and jail expansion. This building will include a District Attorney’s office, District Court Clerk’s office, a municipal court chamber, a municipal court, a justice court chamber, a justice court, Law Clerk’s office, District Court Bailiff’s office, two jury rooms, two district court judicial chambers, and two full-sized courtrooms. To accommodate the inmate population, the jail expansion includes utilizing the existing Jail-Public Safety Building and expanding from there. The expansion includes additional cell blocks with beds for 75 male residents with the ability for future modular expansion. Additional cell blocks with beds for 25 female residents, new cell block for juvenile offenders, new dispatch office with storage and audio/visual surveillance capacities, in addition to including additional storage for evidence supplies, high risk holding cells, a padded high risk holding cell, and a secure transport hallway to the four courtrooms of the new courthouse. Being a secure building there will be one public entrance monitored by audio/visual and one semi-secured (card-swiped) employee entrance. The structure consists of structural steel and CMU. Enclosure consists of Storefront, CMU, metal panels, and Single Ply Roofing. The site work for this project will include landscaping, concrete, lighting, and asphalt. With the help of CORE, this Justice Complex is set to complete Fall 2021.
